Billy Dawson

KYW Traffic

Billy Dawson started reporting traffic in New York City at Metro Networks before joining KYW Traffic in 2017. Forged in college radio at West Texas A&M University’s KWTS, “Power91”, where he attained his B.G.S, Billy made a lasting impression when he launched a new alternative rock format, while becoming the first student to simultaneously work full-time in commercial radio, hosting the 7pm to midnight shift at KAKS, “Kiss FM”. That year Billy was rated #1 nighttime talent by Arbitron – and his college alma mater is still playing his alternative rock format 25 years later. An artist at his core, Billy draws and paints with various mediums and uses his art to teach his three children about their world. Registered with the Writer’s Guild East, he’s written a screenplay, television pilot, and digital film documentary which he also produced; he’s a trained actor and SAG member with a part in Martin Scorsese’s movie “The Irishman”; he’s trained in classical ballet, touring internationally and performing for seven years; he’s a trained martial artist and power breaker; he’s a non-linear audio and video editor, and host of his iTunes podcast, “The Billy Dawson Show”. Billy Dawson is currently a two-term elected public official in New Jersey’s 16th Legislative District, serving as President of the Rocky Hill Borough Council, since 2015.
