KYW Newstudies 2019 Application Page

Do you know any high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who would be interested in learning about the inner workings of one of the country’s most respected news radio stations?

If so, please continue reading and let us know which students would be interested in this esteemed program that has launched the careers of multiple professional radio and TV broadcasters.

Since 1968, KYW Newsradio has given high school students the opportunity to learn about a major market radio station with the Newstudies student reporter program. Students come to the KYW Newsradio studios to learn news writing, reporting, ethics and interviewing skills from station managers, editors, reporters, anchors and guest speakers. Then they research, write and record news stories about their school and community. The students' reports will air on KYW Newsradio.

Sessions are usually held from 9:00AM to Noon during five Saturdays beginning in mid October. Students will record their projects on the fifth Saturday. There is a break for standardized testing.
