Safehouse voluntarily delays opening of South Philadelphia safe injection site

Plans for a center in Philadelphia where drug users could inject under medical supervision - which would have been the first in the nation - are suddenly on hold. The non-profit Safehouse has voluntarily agreed to delay opening a safe injection site in South Philadelphia, so it can consult with angry and worried neighbors.  There's also word that the building owner is no longer interested in moving forward with the lease, at Broad and Passyunk. KYW’s City Hall bureau chief Pat Loeb reports city council also jumped into the fray..
