Sen. Bob Casey speaks on partial government shutdown and its effects on food assistance recipients

As the partial government shutdown continues in its third week, with no end in sight, officials in Pennsylvania are making sure the state's 1 point 8 million food assistance recipients will continue to get their benefits through February.

They're doing this, by giving out early payments on January 18th and 19th.

KYW Newsradio's Justin Udo talked with Pennsylvania State senator Bob Casey about those early payments and the effect the shutdown is having on other programs many people rely on.
